Welcome to the About Me space were you can know a little more about me. My name is Deepa and I am based in the financial capital of the country - Mumbai. I live with my dog (a 6 yr old female Labrador) Mandy. I am freelance natural light photographer who I specializes in portraits (kids, pets, family) and occasions(birthdays, thread ceremony, first holy communion etc.). I also do studio light photography as per client's requirement.
Here are a few questions which you might want to ask me:
Are you a professional photographer? Do you have a formal degree in photography?
Yes, I am a photographer, but am a technical writer by profession. (Yeah I do freelance as a tech writer too :P kidding) I do not have any formal degree in Photography, my knowledge for photography is self taught and through a few workshops which I have attended over the years.
Since how long have you been into photography?
Photography has been my passion back since school days, but I have been seriously pursuing it for the last 3 years.
What is your style of photography like?
I like to term my style of photography as documentary because I am clearly not one those photographers who like their subjects to pose. I believe that true beauty can be only capture when you show your natural U.
What gear do you use?
I use a Canon 1000D, with 18-55mm lens or a 50 mm lens. Occasionally I do rent some lens if there is a specific use.
What do you offer?
I usually offer to take pictures of family/kids/pets portraits in natural light.
Do you work in a studio?
Since I am a natural light photographer I don't have a studio of my own. But if you are very keen on a studio setup, I can hire a studio with a additional cost.
How do you post process your photos?
Most of my post processing is done in Photoshop and Lightroom. I sometimes do use GIMP but thats rare.
So were will you take the photographs?
I can take it anywhere you like, maybe you want to be photographed in your favourite corner of the house or a garden, cafe etc.
Do you do provide wardrobe and styling?
I am not into fashion photography hence I don't style and I don't provide wardrobe. I believe that the true essence of capturing lies when the subject is comfortable. However I usually suggest client to color co-ordinate their wardrobe to compliment each other (if more than one) and the location. Subtle colors brings out the best in portraits.

How much do you charge for a session?
My prices vary as per the client request but here is the basic package I offer:
Single A: 2500/-
How can I contact you?This package will include a photo shoot for one individual which will last for approximately 1 hrs I will be providing approx 25-30 pictures. Pictures will
edited in Photoshop/ Lightroom and full size (large file) files will be saved in a DVD/CD.
For every extra person included in the shoot an additional Rs 1000/-(special rate for Navi Mumbaikars Rs 500/- for every extra person included in the shoot) will be charged. You will need to make a 50% of the payment while booking the shoot.
